  1. Google will finally stop taking data from the recently closed DMOZ

    Despite the fact that the Open Directory (ODP / DMOZ) for more than two months as ordered to live a long time, the US search engine Google still continued to use its data to build its delivery. I continued to this day …

    However, this morning in an official blog for webmasters, the IT giant said that it will no longer rely on data from DMOZ when generating the results of its search. In particular, henceforth Google will no longer use the names ( titles ) and descriptions ( descriptions ) Sites that were present in the Open Directory until its actual closure.

    “Given that the DMOZ has ceased to exist , we stop using its base to form our own snippets. On this basis, webmasters now need to take a much more serious approach to the issue of compiling quality meta tags for their sites. “
